One bird, two bird…

Here's just a brisk evening walk from the archives. With the sun low on the horizon, and the saltwater flowing into the coastal wetlands to the rhythm of the tide, I moseyed along to see who might be out for a late supper. It turned out to be quite tranquil, with few birds to be found, apart from a black-crowned night heron, willet, black phoebe and a couple of Anna's hummingbirds. I checked the chaparral gardens, and along the sandy shores, along the overgrown shrubs and across the bridging platforms, but the night had already arrived and the birds were surely cozying up for bedtime.
