A flowing autumn morning
USA
Connecticut
October 31, 2017

It was a beautiful morning, with a wispy fog emerging from the river into the freezing air. A small owl peered over me as I continued on by, and little else moved in the pre-dawn darkness. The day's trip was to a set of waterfalls, and I held a mild anticipation for something colorful, but more realistically, just something unique. The autumn leaves have eluded me this year, but in their absence, there are still plenty of things to photograph.

Might I add, that this hike may have involved the greatest number of insects? I'm pretty sure I saw more than fifty earthworms, dozens of caterpillars and spiders and aphids and more. Also, I found some still crawling on me long after leaving the hike.

I hope you enjoyed the photographs. Winter is almost here!
