Yesteryear birding (Part 1)

In light of the past migration, and my continual non-birding schedule, I thought it fitting to catch up on some older material (it just wouldn't be so nice to post them during winter). And thus begins the flashback, to some surprisingly good birding days last year. The next few posts will contain similarly dated photographs that have been collecting dust in the archives.
This day's key players included a blue-headed vireo and magnolia, prairie, palm and black-throated green warblers. The sky was clear, and permitting to the harsh sunlight, but as the day turned into evening, these shadows eased up a bit. Due to the environment, most of the birds stayed higher in the trees -- I'm sure it was tastier up there anyways.
