Chinese tea
August 9, 2011

I have here a picture of a Chinese tea set. Its packaging and presentation is particularly interesting with shininess all around. First on the outside, the dense rectangular box is composed of two halves. The top features a blue and gold-colored design that is contrasted with the textured brown bottom. Opening the box reveals two aluminum containers of tea packed snuggly in a cushioned and recessed linen-lined nest. Everything seems to be reflective in some way making the containers seem almost royal.

I wanted to photograph this to show the appeal, which was apparent even in the available lighting. After a tripod-supported 1/3 second exposure the image really did not pop out as needed. Simple adjustments fixed the problem, notable in the areas of contrast and vibrance, and the resulting image is pictured here.
